Crystal Chism proudly serves as the DeSoto City Councilmember for Place 6, having secured a resounding 62.86% of the vote in the May 1, 2021 election. Her journey in public service is a testament to her dedication to her constituents and her community.
Originally born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Crystal is a proud graduate of Dallas Independent School District Skyline High School, Class of 2001. After graduating from high school, Crystal spent the next 10 years serving in the military in both active and reservist duty. Crystal earned her Associate of Arts degree from Mountain View Community College and later received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Texas in Arlington.
Currently, Crystal is employed at the Army and Airforce Exchange Service, a Department of Defense military retailer that serves military personnel around the world. She is an essential part of the executive management team, responsible for enhancing the online store consumer experience.
Crystal is married to the love of her life, Quentin Chism, who is also an Army veteran. They have no children however a host of nephews and nieces that love to spend all their money
